Simon Hengchen is an academic with a 10-year experience in the field of Natural Language Processing. He holds master’s degrees in Germanic languages and Information Science from the ULB, where he also received his PhD. After his PhD, Simon did his postdocs in Finland (University of Helsinki) and Sweden (University of Gothenburg), while still building his network through collaborations with Amazon, The Alan Turing Institute, the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford, Cornell University, etc.

Simon is still involved in academia and research, as he teaches NLP at the University of Geneva, conducts independent research at the University of Gothenburg, and is involved in the 6-year Change Is Key! research programme as a steering committee member.

In 2021 and 2022, iguanodon.ai was happy to sponsor two editions of a workshop at the international conference of the Association for Computational Linguistics: 2021, 2022.

Simon is now back home – Brussels – and applies NLP and Data Science on real-world problems.
